Upcycling To Fuel the Fire

Artists from Alien Iron spend months gathering old cast iron radiators which are smashed into chip-sized pieces with sledgehammers prior to the event. Using a blast furnace fueled by coke (a grey, hard, and porous coal-based fuel), they bring this custom-made beast to life. As dusk falls, the fire shoots into the sky as the furnace heats up to 2600 degrees creating an epic display of heat, light, and molten metal! This innovative recycling process showcases the power of art to repurpose and renew, turning discarded materials into incredible sculptures.
